Website of the Week: NightlineDesign.com

November 2nd, 2010 — 2:12pm

We’ve been away for a week but what a site to come back to!

NightlineDesign.com demonstrates the pure free-form design-led creativity that we think makes WebEden great. The site is completely bespoke – it doesn’t make use of any templates. The images are powerful and displayed evenly and effectively. And the use of black ground add weight to the whole project. Inspiring stuff!

When did you build your website?

I created my website, about a year ago, and since then have completely re-designed the function and look of the site, keeping the site in tune to my latest projects.

Why did you build a website?

I originally built my site to work as an online folio, but am now helping young people in cornwall set up in buisness, helping them to find the right image that suits their company.

The website now reflects everything around my buisness and has helped me get my design work out there.

What do you like best about your website?

The thing I like most about my website, is that its simple direct and easy for my customers to find out what they need without having a website jammed full of imformation. All my photography is original and flows nicely with the webeden software.

I hope the site looks visually eyecatching to you [It does - Ken] , and would love it if you chose my site as website of the week [Done!].

Thanks for developing such a usefull piece of software

Whose logo is seen most frequently?

November 1st, 2010 — 2:36pm

A study by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk has focused on which logos are the ones that get viewed the most. And the winner? I’m afraid there’s no prizes for guessing that one: its Google.

According to the study the average person views the Google logo once every nine minutes every day. And the reason? Its because we all set Google as our homepage (or at least 47% of do).

50 times a day!

Amazingly, this means that the majority of respondents saw the logo more than 50 times every working day. 52% in the study said they used Google to search for something between 10 and 20 times a day.

The second most-viewed logo was Microsoft, followed by Facebook in third, and Apple fourth. Coca Cola led the charge for non-media technology, being the 5th most viewed logo.

It’s ALL about Search Engines

This is of passing interest – hence why we decided to feature the story here. But what is of more interest is the fact as so many of us have set Google as our homepage. We all recognise that the most important online activity is searhing for something. And as a website builder, that’s an opportunity to use Google to get your website in front of people.

To help boost your website higher in the Search Engine Results Page, we have beta launched our own SEO and Pay Per Click services to help your website rank higher on Google.  Drop us a line or give us a call if that suits you.
