Google has got my goat!

Further to the story about how much energy big Internet services use, Silicon Valley newsbreaker TechCrunch has uncovered how Google is finding novel ways to reduce their carbon footprint. Believe it or not, but Google have rented a heard of goats to cut the grass around their HQ:

Here is a picture of a goat, for visual appeal…

They’re renting the goats on a weekly basis. Apparently what happens is that a sheperd turns up with about 200 hoofed friends, who then chomp down and, erm, fertilise, as I think they call it.

Sounds like a good way to reduced CO2 emissions to me. Although not so good for gardeners and lawn mower manufacturers…

And if they bag the resulting goats’….droppings….and market them as Google Garden Poop , they make more money :-)

If they are lady goats, they could also sell the milk – Google Gurgles.

    I think I missed my calling :-)

So, Ken, the question is – are Webeden suddenly going to pay for a herd of goats to keep the lawns trim at Webeden HQ….

As well as being good for the environment, the more innovative your idea, the better it will work for you as a marketing ploy.

You could sponsor some inner city farm to offset your carbon footprint?!

Wow you really ran with the Goat product extensions!

A herd of goats around here? They’d have to feed on coke cans and crisp packets, not much greenery here unfortunately!

Wow certainly very innovative and im sure it works a treat but won’t the grass be rather patchy or do the goats produce a good even cut?

Its better than that! They can even do stripes, swirls and, ahem, water features…
