Website Builder Tutorials: How to add a poll to your Website
Ever heard of the phrase ‘Web 2.0′. Its a catch-all term that describes websites that are more than just a 1-way distribution of products or information.
Web 2.0 websites are those that allow users to interact and contribute to those websites. That can be in the form of adding content - such as in a forum - or even uploading photos or comments. The idea behind it is that if a website visitor makes a contribution to a website, then they’re more likely to come back again, since they have taken part in the creative process.
A great ‘Web 2.0′ feature integrated into the WebEden website building platform is the poll. Adding a poll to your site makes it really interactive, and gives your website visitors a reason to engage with your website, and come back again. Follow the tutorial and try adding a poll to your site.
How did you get on? Leave us a comment below.

Have added one on my Tarot website. I like how you can customise the colours to match your website ‘brand’ too.
Will be interesting to see if I get any responses :-)

A quick pointer - I failed to click on the ‘finish’ button and as a result, didn’t set my poll up properly *doh*.
Also, after I voted and clicked to see the votes, how does it revert back to the poll? Mine isn’t returning to the first page. Am I not doing something that I should? (surprise, surprise!)

Hi Alison,
As in returning to the original so you can vote again? I don’t think its supposed to do that - it only allows people to vote once, to make it fair. It sets a cookie to say that this person has voted, and to therefore not give them a chance again.
The way around this would be to delete your cookies for paganmoontarot.com.
Would you like a pointer on how to do that?

Ah right - I see. Yes, a pointer on how to do that would be good.
Sorry to be dim, but does it mean that when other people happen by my site, they DO get to see the poll until they too vote and then they just get the results?
Or - is it because *I’ve* voted that my site visitors will only get to see results, not the poll itself?

OK let me see if I can get this right! This is easiest if you’re using Firefox - do you use that?
In the case of Firefox, go to ‘Tools’, and then ‘Options’, and then choose ‘Privacy’. Half way down the dialogue box choose ’show cookies’.
You can see you will have 100s of cookies attached to your browser, mostly from websites you have visited in the last 30 days.
In the search box type ‘pagan’. This will select all those cookies that start with the word ‘pagan’. Choose those ones for paganmoontarot.com, highlight them and then press ‘remove cookies’.
Then press ‘close’.
You then need to clear your cached version of the page, so press F5.
Then you should be able to see - and vote on - the poll again.
And yes, when other people happen by your site, they get to see the poll until they vote, and then just the results.
Lemme know how you get on!

Yup - that worked. Thank you very much :-) Maybe you should put tag that bit about clearing cookies in the ‘what is’ bit?
Along with ‘Why it is important to be able to clear your cookies?’
