The website I have created www.hotelsnearfootball.co.uk firstly - ignore the icon on there; 'footie fan accom', that was the website name previously and it was no good, therefore I have changed the website address and will be having a new image with the new website name soon...

The website basically is set up to find hotels near football grounds in England.

Anyway. I created the website and got so far with it and got a bit frustrated on actually fully finishing it and doing all the SEO stuff, to bring people to the site. After not touching it for about 6 months I now have a bit of time again so want to finally get it finished. Not knowing much about SEO I have contacted someone who does know their stuff and will hopefully be helping me with it.

One of the things advised was that I need to make sure each page is properly SEO for each football ground. I have been told I need to make the page URL e.g. /hotels_near_arsenal_football_ground.php

Now I have tried and tried but can't for the life of me get this to happen. Each webpage still has numbers for the link instead of what I want it to say above, no matter what I try.

Is anyone able to advise what I need to do please? I have added a screen shot below as to where I am stuck with it all, not sure if it will help...?

Thanks for reading

Updated site - now ranks low vs. original high ? http://www.webeden.co.uk/forum/discussion/1190/updated-site-now-ranks-low-vs.-original-high-s Sat, 07 Apr 2012 04:01:02 -0400 candi1 1190@/forum/discussions
Around a month ago I overhauled my website and detached/reattached the domain - http://www.creativecandi.co.uk

The original site using same URL (now http://creativecandi2.webeden.co.uk/) used to rank in the top on a Google search.

The new site no longer ranks (or at least is very low), but I can't work out why.

Did I miss something ?

Really appreciate your feedback,

The suggestion was made that you can place a transparent text box (with a standard font) behind your title text so it is noticed when crawled. Will this second title text box still be recognised as a H1 tag? Does it need to be slightly above the visible graphic font title text to be a H1 tag?

Also could someone tell me if this is acceptable by Google, Yahoo etc as I am concerned about doing anything negative in the eyes of the search engines. :)

I finally finished my latest website last friday (www.invoiceassist.com) and launched it the following day (Saturday) by posting the URL to google. The website has been listed in the results page but not very well. When i finalised my website however, i thoroughly checked through your SEO guide and included everything that was needed to make it as easy as possible for any search engine to crawl my website.

I was just hoping you could clarify that i have taken all the necessary steps in order to make SEO as easy as possible.
-Posted both versions of my website i.e. www.invoiceassist.com and without the www.
-Tagged all of my images wih appropriate descriptions
-I have included my site/page keywords and descriptions in the meta data description in the HTML.
-I have also made sure that my website text links correctly with my site name, keywords and description
-I used 'anchor text' to link certain words to other pages within the webite (not too many ofcourse and within reason)

However i am still waiting for some external links from other websites (i was hoping you could help me out).
Also, when you have a google Adsense do you have retrieve the code within 14 days of activating your google adsense account.

Please can you reasure me that i have done the right thing as far as SEO is concerned, many thanks.

Thu, 01 Apr 2010 15:27:08 -0400 Seo Go/One Coventry 147@/forum/discussions and with little money invested in the early stages of online marketing.

I will give you the url of the webeden site I have top ten next to the bigest brand in the world, at the end.

This isn’t about selling your site to your family and friends, it is a kind of network community marketing link building on page optimisation type of thing these days, lol.. I own a business that found its feet through challenging myself to see if I could beat the best at online marketing, I targeted the bigest online advertising company and set out to see if I could get my site above theres.

And I did it with Webeden!

Over the 15 years I’ve had a Web site (5 years with Webeden), and worked in the Search engine optimsation business I’ve accumulated a lot experience, tips and qualifications on running an online business and reaching the worldly hight of top 10 on Google, and I’d like to share some of the online marketing search engine tactics I’ve learned.

Step 1
Are you ready for search engine submission? Be patient and only submit your site to search engines when it is 100 percent tested and completed. If Rome wasn’t built in a day, your Web site will need time to mature as well.

Once you feel your site is up and running, and just the way you like it (you did check all your links to make sure none are broken, and that there aren’t any missing images, didn’t you?), it's time for search engine submission. For the most effective Internet marketing, you’ll want to make sure your site is listed in the following search engines and directories:

GOOGLE

 YAHOO

 MSN

Also look for niche regional and local directories, and directories that are specific to your type of business. For example, if you do a search on Google for "Coventry business directory", you'll see a number of places offering search engine submission. Almost all the other "major" search engines now charge a fee to get listed, or are just not worth the effort of search engine submission. Avoid Free-for-All listings , link farms and the majority of Award sites.

If your gut says it's a bad idea, it probably is. What we can’t emphasise enough is that you take the time to find the right search engine submission category.

Step 2 On its way.

Google States:
Copy the meta tag below, and paste it into your site's home page. It should go in the
section, before the first
section.

To verify that you own a site, you can either add a meta tag to your home page (proving that you have access to the source files), or upload an HTML file with the name you specify to your server (proving that you have access to the server). Webmaster Tools will check to see that the file or tag is present. If you can upload a verification file to the the site's root or can add a verification meta tag to your site's home page, we consider you a site owner and will show you site details.

Please advise...
