When did you build your website?
The website was started about a year ago, however I have been continually growing it and adding new features.

Why did you build a website?
I am the company director and founder, I built the website so I could have full control and be able to edit and grow the site without forking out a fortune for a web design company to do it for me.

What do you like best about your website?
I love our Page flip eBrochure it saves us a fortune on hard copy brochures and addes to our green credentials www.escapelodges.co.uk/#/ebrochure/4541370224

Today has brought about a very embarrassing situation.

It appears that new link buttons have been applied to be able to choose from.

The problem:

I like to use invisible link buttons which up until today was choice number 25 from the menu.

Unfortunately with the addition of new link buttons my invisible links have now appeared as a small grey box.

This has caused me a nightmare and lost me hours of work having to readjust the links to make them invisible again by changing to chioce number 28.

So it begs the question why did those in control do this without notifying its customers first?

Add to this how can myself and other be assured that this will not happen again?

With a steady portfolio of customers being built it makes me very nervous about wether this will happen again and I have to trawl through a minimum of 16 sites and readjust all over again?

I look forward to a response from Ray or a colleague assuring myself and other customers that this is going to be resolved.

Why did you build a website?
Launching a new product/ service and wanted a brochure site for clients to go to, also to harvest e mails!
What do you like best about your website?
Rotating header, took me a while to work it out (so it looks correct) - but it's a great way to cram lots of info on a home page!
What is your best website building tip?
Think about your target market, is it what they want and expect when they click onto the site!]]>

When did you build your website?

It was built a few years ago, although its went through quite a few face lifts.

Why did you build a website?

The site was originally just a online portfolio, it’s now evolved into a full digital design business.

What do you like best about your website?

I like the clean lines and modern look. There’s a few cool widgets in it, like the blog feed from blogger and the video about google place, althought I’m still working on that one.

What is your best website building tip?

Doesn’t matter how good your website looks, if it can’t be found it’s useless, so make sure your site is search engine friendly, it’s does take long but will make all the difference. Remember that just putting in your key word isn’t going to do much, everyone’s got the same. Try and get your geographic area into the key works and tittle.]]>
WebSite Of The Week http://www.webeden.co.uk/forum/discussion/691/website-of-the-week Thu, 17 Mar 2011 13:17:54 -0400 coolmint 691@/forum/discussions
Site designed for a client to advertise and sell her Gifts and Treats. Also allows customers who buy from shows to buy again via the web. Created and finished within 3 weeks (as always its getting the images that takes the time) Still got the keywords and descriptions to finish before its posted to search engines.

Colour scheme is "yummy-mummy" As no auto resize of site to match users screen resolution I tend to use the old fashioned 1024 x 768 and put a backgounfd boarder in to fill the screen as appropiate.

Easy to create sites in Web Builder but the e-commerce aspect still needs a lot more work (but its coming I hear) Lining up the descriptions and then the paypal buttons is a time consuming task.

Customer very happy and her business partner has now taken control and will add and delete products and pages as required.]]>

When did you build your website? Build January 2011
Why did you build a website? Jazz Event Production Business
What do you like best about your website? The animated "music notes entering what appears to be a light and coming through into the glass with the band". My favorite page.
What is your best website building tip? Placement of what is important to the viewer, making the sites as friendly usable as possible without taking away from the design concept. Allowing the images or effects to work as links.

Humbly Submitted,

When did you build your website?

After various drafts, it was unleashed to the public in November 2010.

Why did you build a website?

To gain an online presence for my jewellery business and inform clients about new ranges. Eventually I hope to sell directly from the site, but initially it will showcase a gallery of work.

What do you like best about your website?

The banner and colouring I have used come directly from a scan of my jewellery which ties everything together. I love being able to update images easily, so the website can evolve with my jewellery.

What is your best website building tip?

Less is more! I was apprehensive at first as I didn't want my site to look like it was made from a template. I used selected widgets to make my site look professional, but adapted them to my own style and avoided the temptation (eventually) to use every single function on offer.]]>
