When did you build your website?
I started designing and building in late 2008 and made major changes in early 2009...
Why did you build a website?
I am a Director who wanted to build an online brand and a web portfolio seemed to be the best options. I have embedded my blog and twitter accounts into the site.
What do you like best about your website?
How easy it is to update and its capasity to be expanded.
What is your best website building tip?
Be Bold.
Try something new... Try and catch the attention of the reader... think outside of the box...
Be Specific.
Know who your audience is and then tailor the website to them; it can't be all things to all people.
Be Clear.
Be clear on what you want to say. Once you have this in mind then you are able to focus all your design through this.
To be able to post my interviews with celebrities on the web in an easy way.
What do you like best about your website?
The clean and professional feel to it which makes it easy for my readers to use. I have had many comments stating this and am very proud to of achieved it.
What is your best website building tip?
Don't be afraid to do something different. You want your site to stand out so experiment with it. It's easy to make changes with the Webeden software so you can always change it again!
The way it flows between pages and how compact it is.. minimal scrolling!! Pet peeve!! Enjoy the flash elements too <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
What is your best website building tip?
Push the boundaries! Play on the theme of business/purpose and use that to create a site which represents you fully.. it's not about being black and white and sticking to the 'norm'.. it's the grey areas in between where u can have fun!
When did you build your website?
I built my website in the November of 2008.
Why did you build a website?
I built my website to allow people to see and buy my photographs and photo gifts.
What do you like best about your website?
I have recently changed my website and logo to something a little more professional. I really like the butterflies in my logo and scattered around my site, I designed them myself on Photoshop. I also like how the colours are very plain and do not take anything away from my photos, but still has a dash of colour with the purple headings and links.
What is your best website building tip
Just have fun with it. Try whatever feels right, and if it doesn't work out it is easy to change back again.
Express your self for a truly unique website! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

What is your best website building tip?
Don't be frightened try out as many things as possible , remember it is so easy to change.
When did you build your website?
I started it for an artist client, Ruth Slater, a few months ago, but only recently persuaded the artist to let me redesign the site to better reflect her 'brand'.
Why did you build a website?
I wanted this artist (and others that I've worked for) to have a window on the web. Staging exhibitions or renting gallery space is so expensive, a virtual shop-window is a much simpler and less expensive way to let people see what you can do.
What do you like best about your website?
the e-commerce pages - easy to set up. I used the option that allowed the thumbnails to be expanded - but made each gallery a 1 x 1 image. I think it's a good way to show off artwork.
What is your best website building tip?
Don't be afraid to explore lots of options that you have never tried before - the software is updated regularly with new templates and tools, it's worth playing with them to see whether something that you weren't considering might work brilliantly for you. If it doesn't, it's all easily changed again.
Why did you build a website? It was for a client we are working with in Albania.
What do you like best about your website? I like the clean design and the featured photo boxes under the main menu
What is your best website building tip? Keep it clean and fresh, and minimize the content so the viewer doesn't need to search through too much to find what they want.

Why did you build a website?
To promote and support the work of David Mitchell, UK actor, writer and comedian and to have some fun
What do you like best about your website?
We think its funny and well written and promotes David's work as well as taking a humerous look at his life and personality quirks (very nice personality quirks). it has attracted 7706 visitors in just 6 weeks of opertation. David has visited the website and were pretty sure some of his work colleagues have too!
What is your best website building tip
Keep your pages clutter free, too much information and pictures spoils them, that's why we have just upgraded, because we felt some of our pages were getting too cramped!

Why did you build a website?
I'm a big fan of actor Reece Shearsmith, and after searching the web for a site for him it became clear there wasn't one dedicated to him - I took it upon myself! <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->
What do you like best about your website?
How professional it looks, with HTML hurting my brain. I know basic HTML but not enough to build an entire site. I get so many great compliments on it. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

When did you build your website?
I started building this website more than 5 years ago
Why did you build a website?
I have designed an entertainment portal website that has good Music, DVD, MP3 and Photolinks.
It also has links to competition sites and how to remove trojans.

I like the easy flash menu system i have designed to access each page.
What is your best website building tip?
Use dreamweaver and cut and paste good java scripts you find on the net into your pages.
I found that building my website actually reached more new customers than advertising in my local papers or national advertising magazines, now days people are more prone to do a web-search before anything else.
What do you like best about your website?
I like the fact that most customers have said they like how simple it was to work with & find what they wanted.
What is your best website building tip?
I would probably say include as much detail of what you are selling or advertising as possible, Customers are looking to be sold on your idea, show what you can give them.
To promote my husband's mobile surf school that had just launched along the South Wales coast, following a successful year of private coaching.
What do you like best about your website?
It's bright, funky, easy to navigate, full of information, useful videos and great photos. Plus people seem to love it!
What is your best website building tip?
Be creative - there are too many practical but dull and uninspiring sites out there. Plus keep it updated regularly to encourage people back. Create a sense of community and belonging. Be clear and informative. Use great images that speak for you. Actually that's 5 tips! <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

I built my website in 2009.
My hobby is studying the history of MAIDENHEAD and I want to share the information I have collected.
I like it when people use my contact page to ask me for local information.

When did you build your Site?
I began thinking about building a website at the beginning of 2009, but my site was finally launched on 1st March 2009. Since then I've made quite a few changes and have tried lots of different things to try and improve it for my visitors.
Why did you build your Site?
After Teaching Adult Tap Dancing for 25 years we finally felt that we should launch oursleves on the world wide web!! And it was also a great way to keep all our students updated without having to ring or write to them all the time!!
What do you like best about your Site?
I like the fact that it's easy to maintain (because I'm NO Computer genius believe me!!).
I also like the face that it was straight forward & not too complicated to set up!! Made life much easier I can tell you!!!!
What is your Website tip?
Play around, experiment and have fun with your site when you get going!! Try lots of different features so that you get a feel of what works for your site!!
I'd also say that another tip is to make sure your site is clear and easily accessible for your visitors, as if it's too complicated then it can put people off visiting!!
When did you build your Site?
I began in February and built it slowly in my spare time.As i'm new to all this , i just took it at my own pace.
Why did you build your Site?
I used to live on the island and still have alot of contacts living there. The island has alot more to offer than your general package holiday so i thought i would set up the site.It gives me a link to the island and the site was built out of love for the island.
What do you like best about your Site?
I like the fact that for a complete pc novice , i have been able to set it up easily using the webeden tools. It allows me to learn a new skill and be in contact with the likeminded island lovers that have used the site and joined my facebook page.
What is your Website tip?
Enjoy doing it or there is no point. If you don't enjoy it then i think it would show on you're overall site.Experiment with all the tools and if you don't know something ask the webeden team

Why did you build your website? We built it for a client who eventually handed it over to us and we haven't looked back.
What do you like best about your website? It's the best way to bang on about the music we love without friends and family telling us to shut up! Users tell us they enjoy it too.
What is your best website building tip? Less is more - don't add anything that isn't necessary. Space is your friend, clutter is your enemy. Make the navigation foolproof and try to look at your site as a visitor not a webmaster. Oh - and content is still king.
Why did you build a website? Wanted to create a website specifically for students studying at Scottish universities to provide information and create an online community
What do you like best about your website? Bright colours - i feel its very attractive and eye-caatching and easy to follow
What is your best website building tip? Keep it simple but fun and make sure you give your users what they want
Why did you build a website?
I am a disabled woman who wanted to start up my own business, after doing some research I realized that there were no Wedding Planners who specialized in disabled weddings.
So I found a home learning school who offered the course in wedding planning. I took the course and passed. Once I passed, I needed a website to advertise my business and expertise, already having a couple of sites with webeden, who better to go with for my business site.
What do you like best about your website?
I love how easy it was to create my site from scratch. As I obviously need to stand out from other wedding planner sites, I like the templates supplied but I wanted something different and unique. The price is also incredible considering you get 5 sites included. Also how easy it is too if you wish to change something as the tool bar is very easy to use.
What is your best website building tip?
I love the photo gallery options and how you can have your picture enlarged when clicked upon.

Why did you build a website?
This website shows all our hard work in trying to prove the paranormal exist's and creating a place where everyone can share in all the Investigations we have and are still to achieve.

Spend time looking around to find websites you like the look of. Starting from scratch without any idea of what you would like to achieve can lead to many hours of wasted 'tweeking'. <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very Sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

Why did you build a website?
I built and donated this website to Tonbridge Round Table as a thanks for all their efforts they put into the local community. The Webeden on-line software enabled me to create an easy to use basic website that has had a massive impact with nearly 400 hits within 7 weeks.
What do you like best about your website?
I like the ability to make the site ergonomic for the user and the ability to lay out pictures and text to keep the site uniform.
What is your best website building tip?
The best tip would be space. When building a site it is very easy to cram a lot of images and text on to one page witch can look very messy but keeping everything to a minimum and using space to keep the site clean and crisp. So my tip is keep it simple.
Thanks Webeden hope you like my handy work...
The websites construction is constant because we are an ever changing and growing record label.
The website was first set up in november 2009, and has been developed since.
Why did you build a website?
GRIM-THING's Entertainment is a record company I own, that needed an online HQ.
What do you like best about your website?
The GRIM-THING's website has a VIP network for it's members, an extension to the VIP network for musicians and a further extension for GRIM-THING's staff and our signed artists.
including a media cafe, games rooms, social rooms, chat rooms, services for musicians and other great idears.
What is your best website building tip?
Networking and promotion is a great way to create a fan base for your website.
social media sites are a great way of doing this.
allowing members to interact with your site is also a great way of getting more attention because those members/or visiters will be drawn back to your site and if tehy start to love it might tell friends hwoever, dont push this because people can find it insulting to be told what to do.
my web site= http://www.loudounvalley.co.uk
I built my site May 2009 and the first year have had 13,000 visitors.
I built a web site to inform the big wide world what goes on in my corner of the globe.
What I like about using webEden is it's so easy to use and then to update the site as much as you like.
I have had great feed back from a lot of people and have recommend anyone that wants to build a site to come on board.
What I like is WebEden always keep in touch with new ideas and help
Friends who have sites with other people say they are limited to change their sites.
When did you build your website?
Last month. May 2010. I spent a day sat in Green Park in London planning it out on my notepad and then a full day in Starbucks by Savile Row on wi-fi designing it. Entire site only took 10 hours from beginning to end. 4 lattes. 2 innocent smoothies. 1 marmite pannini and 3 packets of biscuits.
Why did you build a website?
I lost my job and i couldn't get a new one that I liked, so I decided to employ myself - but I couldn't afford an expensive one after I lost a lot of money in an expensive divorce. Sad but true! Really glad now that I did build it as I can update it myself and I don't need to pay anyone to do it. I now actively encourage the SME's that I consult for to use web eden - and not just because of the cost savings but because of the functionality. I think you should have a commission structure for referrals!!!
What do you like best about your website?
It looks like it cost a lot to build. I've worked with some £100 per hour code writers and I think my site looks as good as many of the £1500 sites they've done - yet mine cost me £5.99 + my time (and I love it that much more because I built it myself - without any web design skills).
What is your best website building tip?
Less is more. Lots of blank space. And good images. Not from google! Spend money on istock at the very least! And people's attention spans for a page are usually less than 5 seconds so make sure the information is laid out very clearly and simply - with a 'call to action' encouraging them to 'do' something.

Thanks guys - your software has helped me be able to do what I do - when I didn't think I had to skills or the money to be able to.
I started building my website roughly 3 - 4 weeks ago and I am now advertising on google hoping to drive potential customers in!
I created my website as i researched the market and found that there was a gap in the market for low and high cost jewellery making accessories all on one site.
The thing i like best about my site is that i built it my self and everything is in fully working order. because i created it myself i can make alterations any time i want to.
My best website building tip would be that if your not happy with something change it,
and also if you think of adding anything WRITE IT DOWN SO YOU DON'T FORGET!!!!!

COME ON WEBSITE OF THE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I created my website, about a year ago, and since then have completely re-designed the function and look of the site, keeping the site in tune to my latest projects.
I originally built my site to work as an online folio, but am now helping young people in cornwall set up in buisness, helping them to find the right image that suits their company.
The website now reflects everything around my buisness and has helped me get my design work out there.
The thing I like most about my website, is that its simple direct and easy for my customers to find out what they need without having a website jammed full of imformation. All my photography is original and flows nicely with the webeden software.
I hope the site looks visually eyecatching to you, and would love it if you chose my site as website of the week.
Thanks for developing such a usefull piece of software

Why did you build a website? It was for a client in Macedonia who is opening an Institute for Spiritual Development in the country.
What do you like best about your website? I love the relationship between vimeo and webeden created by the HTML snippet.
What is your best website building tip? Because webeden is soooo accessible you can create amazing websites, but also clutter the screen with too many gizmos. Don't get excited about the number of features. Think about the viewer. We all start on google because the blank space relaxes us - do the same with your website.

When did you build your website? 2009
Why did you build a website? It is an essential requirement of my business, so without it, no business!
What do you like best about your website? The reason I chose webeden for my huge website is because I need to update a large number of pages on a daily basis, and most importantly in real time, because I receive bookings each hour, so the ease of making fast changes with a couple of clicks has proved very profitable for me.
What is your best website building tip? Simplicity, but with a professional touch. Make sure your visitors know easily and exactly where to find what they require, and keep each page informative but free of clutter.
Addition: I have rarely had any technical issues with webeden, but when one has popped up, the response from webeden has been fast and helpful, therefore in my years of using various web building companies, this is the only one I have actually recommended to anyone!
Started building the website in January 2008 and been adding information to it ever since.
Why did you build a website?
One of my rivals had hijacked the advertising space on a whisky information site I was advertising on. So I thought why not build my own and use it to advertise my commercial website
I looked around for some website building software and came across webeden. after reading the positive reviews and the free trial decided to have a go.
What do you like best about your website?
The flexibility, I can add flash video, twitter feeds, news feeds, all this makes it easy to keep the website looking up to date. plus the ease of use, I am a one eyed one finger 50 plus (never been taught) webbie so if I can do it any one can
What is your best website building tip?
Use twitter and Google news feeds. these can be added so as to be always updating your website even when you cannot.
Why did you build a website?
Me and my boyfriend decided to start selling our own Photographic, Graphic and Contemporary Art. We knew having a website was an essential marketing tool and I was keen for us to design and build our own.
What do you like best about your website?
The thing I like best about our website is that we have complete control over the design and content and can modify it at any time. Also, it looks great! It’s clear, concise, easy to navigate and is on brand.
What is your best website building tip?
My best tip is to keep asking for feedback from friends, family and customers and be open to suggestions and criticism. Another tip is to plan for the future… think about what you might need from your website a few months/years down the line. It is much easier to make changes if they have been planned into the design from the start.

When did you build your website? September 11th 2010 and I've been updating, improving and adding more information almost every day.
Why did you build a website? Because I wanted people to enjoy reading more and I wanted to recommend books to people.
What do you like best about your website? Webeden makes it really easy to have a proffesional looking and interesting webisite. I also like the fact people can take the quiz to see which book they would like and they can write in the forum if they actually enjoyed it.
What is your best website building tip? Put links on different pages so people can access what they want easily.
When did you build your website?
I started to build the website in January 2010 having been let down by many webmasters who couldnt update the website when I needed to add new acts and artists.
Why did you build a website?
I am a Director of the company and I wanted a website that would give max impact to clients and have full control and able to update the website when it needed to be update and to be able to announce any special offers or events and to be able to have the website as the Key Tool for promotions ect and for the website to be our shop window for the company.
What do you like best about your website?
Its very easy to use and operate even for first timers who have never built websites. Our website has the professional impact and easy to look around and makes our visitors staying longer as its plain and simple and not complicated like our competitiors.
What is your best website building tip?
Take your time when building pages. Include BOLD to highlight the important text
Be to the point, dont ramble or make the page to long, visitors will get bored
Include YouTube, Slide Shows or Audio Player if you deal with Acts and Artists.
Preview your page and if you think it doesnt stand out you can change it their and then.
Dont use a lot of animations, it sometimes can put people off.
I started to build the website in September 2010 and have spent a significant amount of time getting the site to where it is today.
Why did you build a website?
I like Webeden and the ease of use with the extensive functionality it gives you, the options are unlimited and I could achieve everything I wanted and more to reach my customers. The site has almost 300 pages and has the look and feel of a major shopping website.
What do you like best about your website?
I like that my site can compete comfortably with the big boys who have spent in some cases tens of thousands of pounds on their websites
What is your best website building tip?
Feedback, get lots of it - what you think looks good or works is not always the case.
